Fat Land - Five Years On
In 2003, Greg Critser wrote Fat Land: How Americans Became the Fattest People in the World. In this compelling keynote address he discusses the furore his book caused (one person threatened to sit on him), the backlash it unleashed, and where the Western world is heading with our food supply.
Panel Response - fast, slow, global, local
Joining Greg Critser on stage are Percy Schmeiser, Canadian spokesperson for farmers' rights, and Helena Norberg-Hodge, founder and director of the International Society for Ecology and Culture. Together they discuss the issues of corporate agriculture and fast food, and explore alternative models for local and sustainable food systems.
When: 7.00pm - 9.00pm
